Use Your Uniview (UNV) Camera Without a Subscription

Uniview (UNV) is standard ONVIF/RTSP gear aimed at prosumer and business installs. EZCloud/EZView only add remote access — the camera records to its NVR or SD card and streams locally with no fee. Drop the remote plan and keep full local control.

Does Uniview (UNV) lock your camera when you cancel?

No. EZCloud / EZView remote handles remote viewing and off-site storage — not your local stream. Cancel it and the camera keeps working on your own network over RTSP/ONVIF.

Uniview (UNV) RTSP and ONVIF stream URLs

Main stream:

rtsp://<user>:<pass>@<camera-ip>:554/media/video1

Sub-stream (lower bandwidth):

rtsp://<user>:<pass>@<camera-ip>:554/media/video2

ONVIF: ONVIF on port 80; enable it under Setup → Network → ONVIF and add a user.

Default ports:

Uniview (UNV) gotchas worth knowing

  • Two documented path styles exist depending on firmware: /media/video1 (and /media/video2 for the sub-stream) or /unicast/c1/s0/live — if one is empty, try the other or use ONVIF GetStreamUri.
  • On an NVR, the channel index changes the path — read it from the device via ONVIF.
  • Business-grade Uniview NVRs are a strong RSC fit over PoE.

How to cancel EZCloud / EZView remote and keep the camera

  1. Drop the EZCloud remote plan — local recording is unaffected.
  2. Enable ONVIF/RTSP in the camera or NVR web UI.
  3. Point RSC at the RTSP/ONVIF URL; some firmware uses /unicast/c1/s0/live instead of /media/video1.
