Use Your Foscam Camera Without a Subscription

Foscam cameras have supported RTSP and ONVIF for years, so they stream locally without the Foscam cloud. The Foscam Cloud plan only stores clips off-site — cancel it and your camera keeps recording to its microSD and streaming on your LAN.

Does Foscam lock your camera when you cancel?

No. Foscam Cloud handles remote viewing and off-site storage — not your local stream. Cancel it and the camera keeps working on your own network over RTSP/ONVIF.

Foscam RTSP and ONVIF stream URLs

Main stream:

rtsp://<user>:<pass>@<camera-ip>:88/videoMain

Sub-stream (lower bandwidth):

ONVIF: ONVIF supported on most HD models; enable it in Settings → Network and add a visitor/operator user.

Foscam gotchas worth knowing

Foscam's default media port is often 88, not 554 — try /videoMain on port 88 first, then port 554.
Older/SD-only models may not support ONVIF — RTSP still works.
H.265 models may need the codec set to H.264 for the widest player support.

How to cancel Foscam Cloud and keep the camera

Cancel Foscam Cloud (or let it lapse) — the microSD keeps recording locally.
Enable RTSP/ONVIF in the camera's web UI or app.
Point RSC at the RTSP URL; note Foscam's default media port is 88, not 554, on many models.
